Tōmua is a Māori branch of the New Zealand Education Institute
(NZEI). Aronui Tōmua members identify with Te Miro Māori.
NZEI honours the Treaty of Waitangi by recognising the right of Māori to
have the authority over Māori issues and giving Māori equal
partnerships within the organisation.
Aronui
Tōmua ki Manawatū (ATKM) covers an area as far south as Wairarapa /
Foxton through to Palmerston North and Wanganui. ATKM meet regularly to discuss
general union and education matters and matters pertaining to Māori.
